Party Poker review
Party Poker was the first truly successful online poker site. Around 2004, when the online poker craze got going, they were on top, and soon they found themselves THE online poker destination for the entire world. Things went sour for them after they left the market in 2006 and one of the owners struck a costly settlement with the US DoJ. What looked like a foolhardy decision back then and had other online poker operators screaming treason, turned into a golden opportunity for Party Poker after the Black Friday events. While PokerStars, the only major online poker site to survive the Black Friday indictments will probably have a tough time getting back into the US market once online poker is legalized, PartyPoker have already struck a cooperation deal with a major brick and mortar casino operator, a deal which is likely to gain enormous significance once an online poker bill is passed.
After the Black Friday events, PartyPoker has gained new life: non-US players short-changed by the likes of Full Tilt Poker have flocked to the site. PartyPoker is now again among the best and most popular online poker sites out there.
Security-wise, PartyPoker is right up there with the best of them. The company is listed at the London Stock Exchange and its support staff is one of the best in the business.
With no US players currently playing, PartyPoker features loose and soft competition and generous promotions. Like its competitors, PartyPoker has hired poker professionals to represent the site in various live events as well as online. Tony G is the top dog at the site although there are other in-house pros as well.
The PartyPoker software is definitely among the sharpest tools in the shed: it features cutting-edge graphics, it is lightning-fast and reliable. Multi tabling is supported at 12 tables and players can actually set a ‘hot hand’ alarm, which notifies them when they land something like pocket rockets or pocket Ks. A browser based version of the software is available too.
